Booming Mining and construction Jobs in Western Australia

Iron ore extraction in Western Australia, in the 2008-09 amounted to forty-seven percent of WA resources valued at 33.56 billion Australian. The total valuation of the natural resources extraction in Western Australia was $71.3 billion in 2008-09 a growth rate of 19 percent compared with 2007-08.

Mining Jobs in Western Australia experienced massive growth. Iron extraction increases expanding by 8.5 percent. In fact 316 million tones of ore was produced in 2008-09.

This is obviously a massive boom and the question arises can this extraordinary growth continue in the medium term? In terms of market capitalisation the mining industry grew by an eye watering 53 percent with the majority of ore going to China took almost ¾ of all iron ore produced in WA, followed by Japan with 21 percent.
