Mining jobs in Australia

Mining jobs in Australia

New census data shows an isolated coastal region in Western Australia has the highest salaries, with average yearly income of more than £68,000.

The town with the largest number of wallet busting incomes is the mining port of Dampier, where nearly 1/4 of homes bring in more than £140,000 a per annum. The 13 richest towns in Australia are all in Western Australia, the centre of the exploding mining sector jobs boom.

Sydney’s highest-earning suburbs have mean incomes of just £45,000 in comparison. Melbourne’s are around £40,000. However it must be noted that the figures do not reflect the fact that the cost of living is also extremely expense in Australia where a salary of $40,000 AUD would be the equivalent of approximately £27,000 in the UK. For example a pint of Beer in the Centre of Perth WA would cost approximately £6.60! Although there are lots of mining vacancies in Western Australia.

The inventory, completed from 2011 census figures, shows the life changing influence from China’s demand for Australian resources. If fact China and Australia have recently agreed currency agreements whereby they will no-longer be required to trade in US Dollars.
